Susan Schneider is the Primary Consultant and Founder of Phoenix Consulting LLC.
Her nearly 30 years of retail and wholesale experience have given her a unique perspective on the policies, politics, and personalities in the California market.
Before founding Phoenix Consulting, Susan was Vice President of Client Services for the California Independent System Operator (CAISO), the company created to run the California investor-owned utilities' extensive high-voltage transmission system. Her responsibilities included contract negotiation and compliance, customer relations, metering, and billing/settlements.
Earlier, she led energy industry restructuring efforts for both the electricity and natural gas businesses of Pacific Gas and Electric Company as Director of Restructuring.
Susan's accomplishments include the successful negotiation of the complex, multi-party agreements required for ISO start-up, and to implement utility open-access programs for retail customers in California.
Susan holds a B.S. in Quantitative Economics, an M.A. in Regulatory Economics, and a certificate from the UC Berkeley executive program "Marketing for Service Industries." She has extensive management and pricing expertise, and she is an experienced and effective expert witness and conference speaker.
